Demar DeRozan scores 35 points to lead the Bulls past the Jazz in the final game of October.

GM6 – Bulls cap first month with solid victory over Jazz

The Bulls (5-1) capped off the first month of games with a statement win, defeating the Utah Jazz 127-110 at United Center behind Demar DeRozan’s 35 point performance. The loss was Utah’s first of the season.

Chicago, who shot 47% from the field, led 66-57 at the half, but the Jazz rallied to outscore Chicago 34-25 in the third quarter to go into the final frame tied 91-91.

In the fourth quarter, Zach Lavine took flight, scoring 13 of his 30 points to help the Bulls pull away for their fourth straight victory. DeRozan big night followed a poor performance against the Knicks when he finished with just four points.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 21 points, and Mike Conley followed with 19 points. Rudy Gobert had 16 points and 8 rebounds. 

 

Gm3 – Bulls notch first home win

Demar DeRozan scored 38 points and Zach Levine followed with 36 and the Chicago Bulls won their first home game of the season, defeating the Detroit Pistons 136-116 at United Center. It was the second win over the Pistons in the week.

Center Isaiah Stewart, who was drafted 16th overall in 2020 by Detroit, led the Pistons offense with 24 points. The team’s number one pick from the 2021 draft, Cade Cunningham scored 16 points, matching his score total from the opening night loss to Chicago.


Bulls first win at home put on hold

The Bulls (1-1) were denied a win in their home opener, losing to the New Orleans Pelicans 108-92. Brandon Ingram dialed up six three-pointers, grabbed 8 rebounds, and finished with 44 points. Zion Williamson followed with 24 points, and 10 rebounds.

After scoring 26 in the Bulls opener, Zach Lavine matched it with another 26-point finish, but without team defense, Lavine’s offense didn’t matter. The Pelicans were quick to react near the rim and scored 11 second-chance points (Chicago scored zero), and they won the rebound battle (31-25). 


Opening Night – Bulls hit easy button versus Detroit

Zack Lavine scored 26 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 100-80 Opening Night victory over the Detroit Pistons at little Caesars Arena. A competitive first half turned into a blowout in the second half as the bulls defense held the Pistons to 29% shooting in the final two quarters.

Coby White followed Lavine with 20 points, and center Nikola Vucevic added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Jerami Grant scored 26 points for Detroit. 

The number one pick of the 2021 draft, Cade Cunningham made his professional debut and finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Bulls big offseason catch, former Spurs forward Demar DeRozan began his tenure with a 10-point performance and grabbed 8 rebounds.

LeBron James scored 27 points, Anthony Davis added 20 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and the Lakers notched a 130-103 Opening Night victory to kickoff the 2021-22 NBA season. In the other opening night battle, the defending champions, Bucks defended home court, 120-116 over Brooklyn.
