Before the draft (Can also do at beginning of season which will help guide trading decisions)

Make table to show number of players in each position
(Made on in January). Include RFAs as if already signed

Determine what position is short a player. This helps determine “needs”

Create table of expiring contracts (can also be done during season)

Offseason Priorities
– Summarize team performance
– Can be based on team rankings
– List areas to improve upon

For NHL, lines worksheet

Conduct the DRAFT (after needs are known)

Free agent digest
– List date and transaction

Lists
– East teams cap room availability
– Top scoring, worst scoring

For League Offseason
– List top free agents
– Track re-signings

Conduct the DRAFT

Advance calendar 2 days, check transactions, do recaps
(Maybe do twice a day)

Pause for day

Repeat next day (for 7 days)
